Terms and conditions

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms govern use of the MRC: Memorise Recall Consolidate website and learning service (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Psych Schools Limited (“MRC”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating an account or using an account-only part of the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service is

MRC is an independent educational revision resource for the MRCPsych examinations. It includes question practice, written textbook material, mock papers, CASC practice and personal learning records.

MRC is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It does not reproduce an official examination. Examination results depend on your performance. The £399 plans include the conditional pass-or-full-refund guarantee described below.

2. Medical and educational limitation

The Service is a revision aid. It is not clinical guidance, a diagnostic service, prescribing advice, supervision or a substitute for professional judgement. Do not use it to make decisions about a patient or to manage an emergency.

Check current authoritative sources, including relevant local policy, medicines information and professional guidance, before applying knowledge in practice. Educational material can become incomplete or out of date despite reasonable editorial care.

AI discussion is optional revision guidance for a question you have answered. AI replies may contain mistakes. Check them against the question explanation and appropriate learning sources. The AI has no tools or browsing access. When you send a message, we send the question context, your submitted answer selection and the current question’s chat messages to OpenAI to generate a reply. See our AI privacy information.

Do not enter identifiable patient information anywhere in the Service. Examples, notes and reports must be fictional or fully anonymised.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • The Service is intended for people aged 18 or over.
  • Registration information must be accurate and your email account must be under your control.
  • Keep your password and signed-in devices secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you promptly report unauthorised access.
  • One person must not share an account with another person or attempt to obtain another user’s learning records.

4. Access and charges

The Service includes free features and optional paid access. Paper A and Paper B are sold separately. For each paper, the £99 question-bank plan provides six months of full access, and the £399 Personalised preparation plan provides twelve months of full access. Each is a one-off payment with no automatic renewal. The current price and what is included are shown on the Courses and fees page and before you confirm payment through Stripe.

Both £399 plans include a pass-or-full-refund guarantee: submit at least 4,000 question attempts for the relevant paper on your account before your exam and, if you do not pass that paper, we will refund that plan payment in full. Repeat practice counts; the questions do not need to be distinct, and there is no minimum practice score or additional claim deadline. The guarantee is in addition to our 7-day refund policy and your statutory rights. See the refund policy for how to claim.

Free access remains available within its stated limits after paid access ends. Contact us about a purchase, cancellation or refund using the details below. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

We may add, improve or withdraw features. We will give reasonable notice where a material change affects an ongoing account, unless an urgent security, legal or safety reason requires faster action.

5. Permitted use

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for your own education.

You must not:

  • copy, sell, republish or distribute substantial content;
  • scrape, probe or automate access except for ordinary search-engine indexing we permit or an interface we expressly document;
  • bypass access controls, interfere with security, introduce malware or attempt unauthorised access;
  • upload unlawful, infringing, discriminatory or confidential material;
  • misrepresent MRC content as official Royal College material or as patient-care guidance.

We limit how many questions an account can open in an hour. An account that passes the limit, or that we reasonably suspect of scraping or automated copying, may be paused or suspended.

6. Content and intellectual property

The Service, software, branding and original learning content are protected by intellectual-property law. Third-party references, trademarks and linked resources remain the property of their respective owners.

You may make reasonable extracts for private revision where the law permits. No other rights are transferred to you.

If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, our Copyright and DMCA policy explains what to send us and how we respond.

7. Material submitted by authors and users

If you submit questions, textbook material, images, references, reports or other content, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that it contains no identifiable patient information or other confidential data.

You retain ownership of material you own. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, edit, format, publish and withdraw it solely to operate, secure, improve and promote the Service. Author attribution is published only where the author has chosen to be credited.

Material that is the subject of a notice under our Copyright and DMCA policy may be removed or disabled while the notice is assessed, and an account that repeatedly submits infringing material will be terminated.

8. Availability, errors and external links

We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security work and events outside our reasonable control may interrupt access. Please report suspected content errors so they can be reviewed.

Links and embedded resources from third parties are provided for convenience. We do not control their availability, content or privacy practices.

9. Suspension and account deletion

You may delete learning progress or request account deletion through account settings. Some limited records may be retained where needed for security, legal compliance, dispute handling or backup recovery, as described in the privacy notice.

While an account is paused or suspended, progress reset and account deletion are unavailable in account settings. Email us at admin@mrcpsychiatrist.com instead.

We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users or the Service, comply with law, or respond to a material breach. We will act proportionately and explain the decision where we can lawfully do so.

A suspended account stays suspended until we review it. To ask for a review, email admin@mrcpsychiatrist.com.

10. Liability and your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to that sentence, MRC is not responsible for losses caused by treating revision material as clinical guidance, an examination result, loss of data caused by your device or connectivity, or events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude responsibility for failing to provide a consumer service with the care and skill the law requires. This section does not limit our obligation to honour the pass-or-full-refund guarantee.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the Service, law or risk profile changes. The current version and date will remain available here. We will give reasonable notice of material changes affecting registered users.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove mandatory rights you have under the law applying where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law.
